Which Trainer Cards Do Mewtwo Decks Use?Plan the Stadium and the third Energy before Dual Impact
A Basic attacker with a three-point risk
A Mewtwo deck on this page uses Mega Mewtwo X ex C1-056, a Basic Pokémon with 180 HP and both Psychic and Fighting types. It does not evolve from the Genetic Apex card. This Mewtwo build can put its main attacker into play without a Mewtwo evolution stack, but the Mewtwo list still needs the printed attack cost before it can deal damage.
Dual Impact costs two Psychic Energy and one Colorless Energy. It deals 100, plus 40 if a Stadium is in play. A Mewtwo deck therefore checks two independent conditions: the attached Energy and the Stadium. The Mewtwo build does not need Fighting Energy merely because the card also has that type. Read the symbols in the selected Mewtwo list rather than inferring costs from its icon.
The A1 Mewtwo ex is a different card: 150 HP, Psychic Sphere for 50 with Psychic plus Colorless, and Psydrive for 150 with two Psychic plus two Colorless, discarding two Psychic. This Mewtwo deck does not copy that discard onto Dual Impact. Keep the C1 Mewtwo list separate from the older article and inspect the exact print when choosing a Mewtwo build.
When Mega Mewtwo X ex is knocked out, the opponent receives three points; its printed retreat is two and its Weakness is Darkness. Those conditions make exposure and movement important in a Mewtwo deck. They do not establish a favorable matchup. Open the chosen Mewtwo list to inspect its actual protection and partners before committing the main body of the Mewtwo build.
Check the Stadium before counting damage
Any Stadium in play satisfies the printed bonus. With no other effects, a Mewtwo deck attacks for 140 instead of 100 while that condition holds. The Mewtwo list does not have to own the Stadium. Check the shared field immediately before the attack, because the Mewtwo build cannot retain the extra 40 after the condition disappears.
Peculiar Plaza reduces the retreat cost of every Psychic Pokémon in play by two, on both sides. That can reduce the Mega’s printed two to zero when retreat is otherwise legal. In a Mewtwo deck, the Stadium can therefore affect movement and attack damage at once. The Mewtwo build must also consider opposing Psychic movement; this benefit is not exclusive to your Mewtwo list.
Arena of Antiquity instead adds 20 to Fighting Pokémon’s attacks against the opposing Active Pokémon ex. Korrina adds 30 for your Fighting attackers against that same kind of target during the turn. For a Mewtwo deck facing an Active ex, Arena plus Korrina can conditionally make Dual Impact 190: 100 + 40 + 20 + 30. This Mewtwo build calculation excludes other modifiers; a Mewtwo list cannot apply it automatically to a non-ex.
Field Blower discards a Tool from either player’s Pokémon or a Stadium in play. A Mewtwo deck should inspect the new board after using it: removing the only Stadium also removes Dual Impact’s bonus. Starting Plains gives Basic Pokémon on both sides 20 HP. The Mewtwo list must read each Stadium’s own effect instead of treating all Stadium choices as equivalent in a Mewtwo build.
Carbink needs two Bench targets
Carbink B3b-031 is a 50-HP Basic Psychic Pokémon with one retreat and Metal Weakness. Glittering Gift needs one Psychic Energy and chooses two of your Benched Pokémon, attaching one Psychic Energy from the Zone to each. The Mewtwo deck must prepare those Bench targets. A Mewtwo build cannot select its Active attacker as one of those targets; check positions in the Mewtwo list.
If the Mewtwo deck has two eligible Bench targets, the attack distributes one Energy to each; its wording does not put both onto a single target. The Mewtwo build therefore plans both the immediate receiver and the second recipient. A Mewtwo list containing Carbink is not proof that one attack alone readies a completely unenergized Mega for its three-Energy cost.
Dawn moves one Energy from one of your Benched Pokémon to your Active Pokémon. After an earlier attachment effect, that gives a Mewtwo deck a separate movement decision. It creates no new Energy. The Mewtwo list must actually have a donor on the Bench and the intended receiver Active; the Mewtwo build cannot reverse the direction printed on the Supporter.
Eviolite reduces damage from opposing attacks by 20 for its Basic holder. Mega Mewtwo X ex is Basic, so this is a relevant protection condition for a Mewtwo deck. It is damage reduction, not healing or extra HP. Compare Giant Cape’s 20 HP and Rocky Helmet’s conditional 20 return damage when reading a Mewtwo list; those Tools solve different questions in the Mewtwo build.
Read the three coins before moving Energy
The Mew ex here is C1-057, a 130-HP Basic Psychic Pokémon. Secret Guidance costs one Psychic and flips three coins; each heads supplies one Psychic Energy from the Zone, distributed among your Benched Psychic Pokémon as you choose. A Mewtwo deck can receive zero through three from that attack. The Mewtwo build must not treat three as guaranteed when selecting a Mewtwo list.
Unlike Carbink’s specified two recipients, this attack distributes according to the actual heads and eligible Benched Psychic targets. A Mewtwo deck checks the result before planning its next attack. Mew ex also has Psyburn for 60 with Psychic plus Colorless. The Mewtwo list therefore records a second printed attack, but neither move guarantees that the next Mewtwo build position has enough Energy.
Professor’s Research draws two cards; Copycat shuffles your hand into the deck before drawing according to the opponent’s hand size. In a Mewtwo deck, those are different hand changes. May gets two random Pokémon, returning one Pokémon from hand for each actually obtained. Read the available targets before choosing the draw effect for the Mewtwo build; none promises the exact missing card in the Mewtwo list.
Poké Ball gets a random Basic Pokémon from the deck, while Serena gets a random Mega Evolution Pokémon ex. Both can matter to this Basic Mega, but their target pools differ. A Mewtwo deck should inspect the current hand and remaining cards before spending either search. The selected Mewtwo list shows representative copies; it does not guarantee the opening hand of every Mewtwo build.
Diancie counts the Energy still in play
Mega Diancie ex B3b-032 is another Basic Psychic Pokémon, with 170 HP and one retreat. Brilliant Storm needs three Colorless Energy and deals 40 plus 20 for each Psychic Energy attached to all of your Pokémon. This Mewtwo deck counts the whole friendly board for that attack. The Mewtwo build must count actual attachments, not Energy that a coin-based plan might produce later in the Mewtwo list.
With exactly five Psychic Energy attached across your Pokémon and no other effects, Brilliant Storm deals 140. That is conditional arithmetic for a Mewtwo deck, not a promise about every game. Mega Diancie ex also awards three points when knocked out. The Mewtwo list must weigh both exposed Mega bodies; sharing the Psychic type does not make this Mewtwo build immune to point risk.
Diantha heals 90 from a Psychic Pokémon with at least two Psychic Energy attached, then discards two Psychic if any damage was healed. A Mewtwo deck should compare the healed position with the attack cost left afterward. This is not free healing for the Mewtwo build: reducing damage can also remove the Energy needed for the next attack in the Mewtwo list.
Indeedee ex’s Watch Over heals 20 from your Active Pokémon once during your turn. Its own Psychic attack needs two Psychic and adds 30 damage per Energy on the opposing Active to its base 30. In a Mewtwo deck, distinguish the healing Ability from the attack and its cost. The Mewtwo list must contain the card for either action; a partner label does not certify every support card in the Mewtwo build.
Giratina ends the turn when it accelerates
Giratina ex A2b-035 has 150 HP and can attach a Psychic Energy from the Zone to itself with Broken-Space Bellow once during your turn. Using that Ability ends the turn. A Mewtwo deck therefore finishes any intended legal actions before choosing it. The Mewtwo build cannot use this acceleration and then make an attack afterward on that same turn; inspect the exact Mewtwo list.
Chaotic Impact needs three Psychic plus one Colorless, deals 130 and does 20 damage to Giratina itself. Those effects belong to the A2b card in the Mewtwo deck. They are not Dual Impact’s cost or damage. If the Mewtwo build later uses Dawn, the donor Energy must already be on the Bench; this Mewtwo list does not transfer Energy automatically just by including both cards.
Flutter Mane’s Hexing Flight costs Psychic plus Colorless and deals 90 only if it moved from the Bench to Active during that turn. Otherwise it does nothing. A Mewtwo deck using that card must preserve the movement condition with the intended attack. Peculiar Plaza can change a retreat bill, but a Mewtwo list still needs an actual move; the Stadium alone does not satisfy this Mewtwo build condition.
Cyrus can bring an opposing Benched Pokémon forward only when that target already has damage on it. Sabrina instead lets the opponent choose the replacement when their Active is switched out. A Mewtwo deck should identify both the target and the damage already present. The Mewtwo build cannot claim unrestricted target choice with either Supporter, and the Mewtwo list’s attack must still meet its own cost after the switch.
Gardevoir supplies Energy after its own attack
Mega Gardevoir ex B2-066 is a 210-HP Stage 2 evolving from Kirlia. Fantasia Force costs two Psychic, deals 110 and attaches three Psychic Energy from the Zone among your Psychic Pokémon as you choose. In a Mewtwo deck, that is an attack-based Energy route. This Mewtwo build needs the evolved attacker and its cost first; the Mewtwo list does not grant a passive attachment Ability.
The B2 Ralts is a 60-HP Basic whose one-Psychic Confuse Ray Confuses the opposing Active. B2 Kirlia has 80 HP, evolves from Ralts, and attacks for 20 plus Confusion with one Psychic. Those versions in the Mewtwo deck differ from A2 Ralts, whose Colorless Teleport switches it with your Bench. Check card IDs when choosing the Mewtwo list; names alone do not determine the Mewtwo build’s opening action.
Rare Candy requires the matching Stage 2 in hand and a Basic already in play, skipping the Stage 1. It cannot be used on your first turn or on a Basic put into play that turn. A Mewtwo deck must keep those timing and location requirements. The Mewtwo build cannot evolve an unsuitable Basic or treat the Item as a search for the Stage 2 still in the Mewtwo list.
Mega Gardevoir ex has one retreat and gives three points when knocked out. This Mewtwo deck route adds an evolution and another Mega’s point exposure in exchange for its printed attack effect. Compare the selected Mewtwo list’s actual pieces before committing to it. The Mewtwo build’s recorded tournament sample supports its identity, not a claim that every hand reaches the evolution on schedule.
Move damage without confusing it with prevention
Dusknoir A2-072 is a 130-HP Stage 2 evolving from Dusclops. Shadow Void can move all damage from one of your damaged Pokémon to Dusknoir as often as you like during your turn. A Mewtwo deck must distinguish moving damage from deleting it. Check Dusknoir’s existing damage before using the Ability; the Mewtwo build cannot assume the receiver always survives the transferred amount in the Mewtwo list.
Duskull A2-070 is a 60-HP Basic with a one-Psychic, 20-damage attack. Dusknoir’s Devour Soul instead needs Psychic plus two Colorless and deals 70. This Mewtwo deck must keep the evolution path and the attacker’s cost distinct. Protective Poncho prevents opposing attack and Ability damage to its holder only while Benched; that condition does not turn Shadow Void into universal protection for the Mewtwo build or Mewtwo list.
Pokémon Center Lady heals 30 and clears all Special Conditions from one of your Pokémon. Lucky Ice Pop heals 20 only from the Active; after actual healing, a heads can return the Item to hand. A Mewtwo deck should choose by the target and effect needed. Neither card guarantees survival. Read the selected Mewtwo list before assuming a healing option exists in that Mewtwo build.
The complete Mewtwo list on this site is a twenty-card statistical representative, which can differ from an individual submission. The linked Xastur submission is a real twenty-card Carbink example. The Mewtwo deck’s counts and records describe the stated tournament window, not that player alone or ranked ladder results. If a Mewtwo build later becomes archived, use its dated historical section rather than treating its old results as current recommendations.
