Which Trainer Cards Do Umbreon Decks Use?Choose the Eevee, target and second attacker together
C1 punishes Basics; A4 changes the target
C1-084 Umbreon is a 90-HP Darkness Stage 1 evolving from Eevee. Moonlit Raid needs one Darkness Energy and deals 30, adding 50 against an opposing Active Basic Pokémon. An Umbreon deck therefore checks the target's stage before counting damage. An Umbreon list facing an Evolution Pokémon does not keep the bonus. With no other effects, this Umbreon build attacks for 80 against a Basic and 30 against an Evolution: the card's condition, rather than its species name, determines the result.
A4-112 Umbreon ex is a different 140-HP Stage 1. Its Dark Chase Ability can move a damaged opposing Benched Pokémon into the Active Spot once during your turn, but only while Umbreon ex itself is Active. Its attack costs two Darkness and deals 80; its retreat costs two. An Umbreon deck using both versions must plan the Active position. An Umbreon list cannot activate Dark Chase from the Bench, and this Umbreon build must still arrange the attacker after choosing the target.
A3b-043 Umbreon has 100 HP and a one-Darkness attack for 40. If the Defending Pokémon is Basic, that Pokémon cannot attack during the opponent's next turn. This is another printed version, not C1's damage bonus or A4's Ability. The Umbreon deck on this page is defined by C1; check whether the selected configuration includes another version before applying its effect. Open the complete Umbreon list before exchanging copies: matching names do not make these three cards interchangeable in an Umbreon build.
Start with the Eevee that supplies the required timing
B1-184 Eevee has 50 HP and Boosted Evolution. While it is Active, it can evolve on your first turn or the turn you play it. That is a precise opening route for an Umbreon deck, not a general permission for every Eevee. The Umbreon list needs this printing in the Active Spot when using that exception. A Benched copy does not grant the same shortcut, so an Umbreon build should identify both the printing and position before planning an immediate evolution.
C1-107 Eevee instead has 60 HP and an attack that puts a random card evolving from Eevee from the deck into your hand. It searches by attacking; it does not carry Boosted Evolution. A3b-056 Eevee ex has 90 HP and can evolve from hand into a Pokémon that evolves from Eevee, but its text excludes your first turn and the turn it was played. In an Umbreon deck these openings spend different resources. An Umbreon list cannot borrow the B1 timing exception for the other versions.
Eevee ex also gives two points when Knocked Out, while its Bite costs one Colorless and deals 30. B1 Eevee's Stampede costs one Colorless and deals 10. These details matter before an Umbreon build leaves its opening Basic exposed. The complete Umbreon list shows which route was actually sampled, rather than promising that one opening works with any Eevee. Choose the Umbreon deck whose evolution timing and point exposure match the cards you own; no unverified replacement is implied.
Hydreigon accelerates onto itself, then pays for the attack
B1-157 Hydreigon is a 150-HP Stage 2 evolving from Zweilous. Roar in Unison can attach two Darkness Energy from the Energy Zone to Hydreigon once during your turn, doing 30 damage to Hydreigon if used. An Umbreon deck does not receive two Energy to distribute freely. An Umbreon list must distinguish the card receiving that Energy from its Active attacker. The Umbreon build gains a separate attacker, not an Ability that directly powers every Darkness Pokémon on the board.
Hyper Ray costs three Darkness, deals 130 and discards all Energy from Hydreigon. Without other effects, using its Ability on an unpowered copy supplies only two of the required three Energy. An Umbreon deck needs the remaining cost before attacking and must account for the discard afterward. That conditional arithmetic explains the resource decision in this Umbreon build; it is not a promise of a repeatable attack every turn. Check attached Energy and remaining HP in the actual Umbreon list position.
Deino B1-155 is a 60-HP Basic with a one-Darkness attack for 20. Zweilous B1-156 is a 90-HP Stage 1 attacking for 40 with two Darkness. Rare Candy can instead put the corresponding Stage 2 from hand onto its Basic, skipping Stage 1, except on your first turn or a Basic played that turn. The Umbreon deck needs the right card in hand for that route. An Umbreon list cannot treat a search Item as an evolution already completed by the Umbreon build.
Pidgeot covers Evolutions; Greninja prepares damage
Pidgeot C1-104 is a 130-HP Stage 2. Clean Hit costs one Colorless, deals 40 and adds 80 against an opposing Active Evolution Pokémon. Alongside C1 Umbreon's Basic condition, this gives an Umbreon deck two different target checks. The Umbreon list does not gain both bonuses on one attack. With no modifiers, the Pidgeot route reaches 120 against an Evolution; choose the attacker from the target's actual stage when playing this Umbreon build.
C1-102 Pidgey has 60 HP and a one-Colorless attack that finds one random Colorless Pokémon from the deck. A1a-057 Pidgey instead attacks for 20 with one Colorless; A1-187 Pidgeotto is an 80-HP Stage 1 with a one-Colorless 30-damage attack. Those are different steps and opening actions in an Umbreon deck. Rare Candy still needs Pidgeot in hand. The Umbreon list should not describe Pidgey's random search as a guaranteed Stage 2, or skip the timing check in the Umbreon build.
A1-089 Greninja can use Water Shuriken once during your turn to put 20 damage on one opposing Pokémon; its own 60-damage attack needs Water plus Colorless. C1-041 Frogadier can put a random Frogadier from the deck onto the Bench when played from hand to evolve, but that is not its two-Water attack. An Umbreon deck can distinguish Ability support from attack costs. The Umbreon list still needs a legal evolution route and Bench space; the Umbreon build does not gain a free Greninja directly from Frogadier's text.
Choose the Mega's effect before accepting its point risk
Mega Absol ex B1-151 is a 170-HP Basic. For two Darkness, Darkness Claw deals 80, reveals the opponent's hand and lets you discard a Supporter found there. This Umbreon deck can use a second attacker with hand disruption, but the effect is specific to Supporters. An Umbreon list cannot discard any arbitrary revealed card. If no eligible Supporter is present, this Umbreon build does not create a substitute discard target or an extra guaranteed resource advantage.
Mega Sableye ex B3b-041 is also a 170-HP Basic. Cursed Jewel costs Darkness plus Colorless and deals 80. During the opponent's next turn, if it is damaged by an attack, the Attacking Pokémon takes 40 damage. The condition belongs to this Umbreon build's printed effect, rather than every possible source of damage. An Umbreon deck cannot call it unconditional damage reflection. Read the opponent's action and the effect's duration before counting the return damage for an Umbreon list.
Both Mega cards give the opponent three points when Knocked Out and have retreat one. This makes the board decision in an Umbreon deck different from simply adding another 80-damage attack. Bombirdier B3-115 reduces the Active Darkness Pokémon's retreat cost by one while on the Bench; it does not reduce every Pokémon's cost. Check the chosen attacker's type and the Ability's position. The Umbreon list keeps each stable build separate, so a common partner name is not proof that every Umbreon build carries identical support.
Other routes use different attacks and Energy conditions
Hoopa ex B4-103 has 150 HP. Shadow Bullet costs one Darkness, deals 30 to the Active and 20 to one opposing Benched Pokémon. Dynamite Punch costs two Darkness plus Colorless, deals 100 and does 20 to Hoopa itself. An Umbreon deck using it can prepare a damaged Bench target, but those are attacks, not an extra Ability alongside Moonlit Raid. The Umbreon list must choose which Pokémon attacks; an Umbreon build cannot resolve both attacks as a single turn's combined attack.
Mega Tyranitar ex C1-085 is a 240-HP Stage 2 evolving from Pupitar. Crushing Rampage costs two Darkness plus two Colorless, deals 180 and discards the top two deck cards. Pupitar C1-076 can attack for one Colorless to attach two Fighting Energy from the Energy Zone to itself. An Umbreon deck cannot equate that Fighting effect with producing Darkness. Check the full Umbreon list's Energy plan and evolution route; the expensive attack is not made ready by its species pairing alone in an Umbreon build.
Darkrai ex A2-110 deals 20 to the opposing Active whenever you attach Darkness from the Energy Zone to Darkrai itself. It does not trigger merely because Hydreigon attaches Energy to Hydreigon. Zarude B3-114 gains its attack bonus only if one of your Darkness Pokémon was Knocked Out by attack damage during the opponent's last turn. Ditto B1a-055 copies a non-ex Benched ally's attack only with the necessary Energy. These optional cards require their own conditions in an Umbreon deck; inspect the Umbreon list before applying them to an Umbreon build.
Search, switch and protection each solve a different problem
Poké Ball finds one random Basic from the deck, whereas Pokémon Communication exchanges a Pokémon in hand for a random Pokémon in the deck. Professor's Research draws two. Copycat shuffles your hand away and draws according to the opponent's hand size; Serena's Choice looks at the top three and keeps one before shuffling the others back. These effects do different jobs in an Umbreon deck. Choose the needed location and card class first; the Umbreon list does not guarantee a specific evolution through any random search in this Umbreon build.
Cyrus brings a damaged opposing Benched Pokémon Active; Sabrina lets the opponent choose the replacement; Repel requires an opposing Active Basic and also leaves the replacement choice to the opponent. Damage from Greninja or Hoopa can supply Cyrus's condition, but not the turn order for free. An Umbreon deck using A4 Umbreon ex must also satisfy its Active-position requirement. Decide whether the Umbreon list needs damage, movement or a new attacker before using the next effect in the Umbreon build.
Giant Cape adds 20 HP; Elegant Cape adds 30 only to an attached Stage 1. Protective Poncho prevents attack and Ability damage while its wearer is Benched. Field Blower can discard a Tool from either player's Pokémon or a Stadium. Pokémon Center Lady heals 30 and removes Special Conditions. Lucky Ice Pop heals 20 from the Active and can return on heads only after actually healing. An Umbreon deck checks each target and timing; these are not interchangeable protection slots in an Umbreon list or a universal survival guarantee for an Umbreon build.
Read the full list and keep sample claims separate
The selected Umbreon deck opens a complete 20-card statistical representative list. It is assembled from the sampled build, rather than presented as one player's untouched submission. A real submitted example is linked separately below. An Umbreon list can therefore differ in individual slots from that example while retaining the verified identity. Use the actual card quantities in the chosen full list when checking your collection; do not transfer one player's optional card or copy count to every Umbreon build.
Build sample counts, results and trainer adoption belong to the displayed tournament window. They do not belong to the one example, and tournament win rate is not a ranked-ladder prediction. Opposite core-card ordering can identify separate stable builds, as illustrated by the Greninja and Mega Absol routes. Those identities remain separate in the Umbreon deck records. When multiple current builds provide a selector, read the sample and cards after switching the Umbreon list, then open that selected route; a shared partner is not a reason to merge the Umbreon build records.
This page follows the C1 ordinary Umbreon theme, including verified configurations that also use A4 Umbreon ex. A4-only routes are outside that admitted scope. Their existence does not make them current recommendations for this Umbreon deck page. If a verified C1 build later becomes archived, its date and historical list must remain separate from current results. Choose an Umbreon list from the displayed samples and check its status, and use the full cards and source context to assess an Umbreon build rather than an unsupported tier promise.
