Pokémon TCG Pocket Deck Builder guide

The Pokémon TCG Pocket Deck Builder combines card search, a 20-card deck panel, imports and sharing. Start with an empty deck or a current Meta list, choose energy separately, then save on this device. On phones, the bottom bar opens the deck panel without leaving the catalog.

Why finishing a Pocket list still feels messy

Pocket looks simple until you need an editable list teammates can import. Screenshots, paper-TCG habits, and wishlist meta decks get in the way of a clean build.

  • Screenshots are not lists. Phone photos of in-game slots are hard to edit and awkward to paste into Discord when someone needs exact cards and copies.
  • Paper habits break Pocket. Players from the physical game often put energy cards into the 20 or copy Standard limits. Pocket construction rules are different.
  • Wishlist vs collection. A meta screenshot does not show which copies you own. Rebuilding with collection badges saves that guesswork.
  • Share formats stay scattered. Codes, QR images, and plain text live in different places. Rebuilding the same list on another device becomes busywork.

What this Deck Builder is for

Keep the list editable instead of rebuilding it from screenshots. Paste a link, code or text list, or upload an in-game share QR. Meta insights compare the core cards already in the deck with recent tournament archetypes and suggest cards often played alongside them. These matches describe card overlap, not expected win rates.

What you get on this page

Everything below runs in your browser. There is no login wall for building, validating, or sharing a finished Pocket list.

  • Newest sets and alternate arts

The catalog starts with the newest sets. Search names or card numbers and filter by type, stage, Trainer kind, rarity, set or ownership. Prints with identical gameplay are grouped; an owned print is preferred when available. Preview a card to choose another art.

  • 20 cards and separate energy

Track the card count and same-name two-copy limit, then choose 1 to 3 energy types outside the 20-card list. Clear the displayed warnings before sharing. The panel also shows Pokémon and Trainer counts and warns when no Basic Pokémon is present.

  • Meta starts and card suggestions

Load a representative Meta list from the Meta shortcuts above the catalog. As cards are added, insights show nearby archetypes by core-card overlap and suggest missing cards commonly included in those lists. The published decklist sample is shown alongside the results.

  • Collection copies while editing

Cards tracked in My Collection show owned counts, and the deck panel summarizes missing copies across equivalent prints. Collection badges help check a chosen list; they do not generate every deck you can build.

  • Import, undo and redo

Paste a shared builder link, a code, or a text list, including a one-line or two-line start. QR screenshots are also supported. Undo and redo card edits or whole-list replacements; choose a name and save decks in this browser.

  • Sharing on desktop and phone

On phones, use the bottom bar to open the deck panel. Once the list is ready, copy a link or text list, download the in-game QR, or export an image with separate QR codes for the website and game.

How to use this Deck Builder

Follow these Deck Builder steps on the tool above. Each step jumps to the matching workspace section.

  1. 1Search and add cards

Browse the newest sets, narrow the filters and tap cards to add copies. Open the preview to inspect alternate arts or switch to an owned print. On phones, open the deck panel from the bottom bar.

  2. 2Choose energy types

Select 1 to 3 energy types for the deck. Energy cards are not part of the 20-card list.

  3. 3Check the deck and revise

Review the card count, copy limits, energy and missing collection copies. Undo or redo changes as needed. Meta insights can suggest cards for nearby archetypes, without promising match results.

  4. 4Save and share

Name and save the deck locally. When sharing is enabled, copy the link or list, download the game QR, or export a deck image.

  5. 5Import a starting list

Paste a deck link, code, one-line or two-line card list, or a complete list into Import. You can also upload an in-game share QR screenshot or load a Meta shortcut above the catalog.

Pocket rules this Deck Builder enforces

These Pocket constraints matter while you build in the Deck Builder. Official support docs also stress that Pocket differs from the physical Trading Card Game.

  • A legal Pokémon TCG Pocket deck contains exactly 20 cards.
  • Energy types are selected separately and do not count toward the 20.
  • You may include at most two cards that share the same card name.
  • This Deck Builder validates Pocket deck construction rules, not physical Standard, Expanded, or other paper formats.

Deck Builder FAQ

Short answers before you trust this browser Deck Builder with a ranked or casual Pocket list.

Is this an official Pokémon TCG Pocket Deck Builder?

No. It is a free fan tool on this site. It aims to match Pocket’s published 20-card rules and common share/QR payloads so finished lists stay useful in-game.

How can I import a deck or start with a few cards?

Open Import and paste a shared builder link, share code or card list. One-line and two-line lists work as starting points, as do complete lists. An in-game deck-share QR screenshot can also preload the deck. Review any unmatched lines after import.

Will the QR code work inside Pokémon TCG Pocket?

Legal decks encode the same style of deck-share payload the community uses for in-game import. Scan from the game’s deck import / QR flow after the list shows as legal.

Do energy cards go in the 20-card list?

No. In Pocket you choose energy types for the deck; energy cards are not part of the 20. Use the energy picker on this page instead of adding energy cards to the tray.

How do collection checks and Meta suggestions work?

Collection counts help identify missing copies and prefer owned alternate arts. Meta suggestions use core-card overlap with recent tournament archetypes, not ownership or predicted win rates. They are not a complete recommendation engine for every deck you can build.

Where are saved decks stored?

Named decks and the autosaved draft live in your browser’s local storage on this device. Export a link, QR, or image before clearing site data.

How is this different from Decks and Meta pages?

Decks pages show tournament data and featured lists. The builder lets you load representative Meta lists, edit cards with undo and redo, check collection copies, and share the result. On phones, these controls are in the panel opened from the bottom bar.

Is my data private?

Building and local saves happen in your browser. Collection tracking also stays client-side. Sharing only happens when you copy a link, download a file, or post an export yourself.

Which languages are supported?

The UI and this guide are localized for English, Traditional Chinese, Cantonese, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and German, matching the site’s language routes.
